Help Keep a Local Kid Warm This Winter

The Brainerd Family YMCA is proud to once again partner with local organizations for Coats for Kids, helping ensure children throughout our community have the warm winter gear they need.

Donate Winter Gear | September 2–October 7

Community members are invited to donate new or gently used winter gear for local children in a variety of sizes, including adult sizes for older and larger children.

Items Needed:

  • Winter coats

  • Mittens & gloves

  • Hats & scarves

  • Winter boots

  • Snowpants

 

Drop-Off Locations:

  • Brainerd Family YMCA – 602 Oak St., Brainerd

  • Anderson Cleaners – 416 S 8th St., Brainerd

  • Hubbard Radio – 13225 Dogwood Dr., Baxter

  • First Lutheran Church – 424 S 8th St., Brainerd

  • Live Well Chiropractic – 318 W Laurel St., Brainerd

  • First Congregational United Church of Christ – 415 Juniper St., Brainerd

  • Nisswa Chamber of Commerce – 25532 Main St., Nisswa

 

Every donation helps make sure a local child can head into winter warm and ready for the season.

Need Winter Gear for Your Child?

Coats for Kids Distribution Day will be held:

Saturday, October 17, 2026
9 AM–2 PM
Westgate Mall
 

Families in need of winter gear are invited to attend and select available items for their children.

Good to Know:

9–11 AM: Children must be present to receive winter gear.

After 11 AM: Coats will be available to those without children present.
