Lars Ronnevik

Personal Trainer & ACE Health Coach

Lars grew up in Fergus Falls, MN, graduating in 2010. He attended Jamestown College and played football for 1 year. He then attended North Dakota State University and studied there until his wife was offered a job in Brainerd.

Since moving to Brainerd 4 years ago, he has lost the 45 pounds he put on after playing collegiate football. In losing that weight he fell in love with exercise and decided to get his Personal Training Certification (NETA). He is also a Certified Health Coach (ACE), Lifestyle Coach, and Certified TRX Instructor.

Lars has four children with his wife, Molly. Some of Lars’ hobbies include reading, weight lifting, playing basketball, and spending time with his family.

Jessica Faber

Personal Trainer

Jessica grew up in Oregon. She obtained her Bachelors of Science at BYU-Idaho where she played college tennis and developed a passion for weight lifting and all things fitness. As she married and her family grew, she enjoyed various types of fitness activities to stay healthy; some of her favorites include weightlifting and boot camp style workouts, as well as outdoor activities like biking, camping, skiing, boating, hiking and hunting.

Jessica lives in the Brainerd Lakes Area with her husband, Nolan, and 5 busy and active children. She loves motivating people to make changes for healthier living. She has been teaching fitness classes since 2018 and has been a personal trainer since 2019.

She obtained her Personal Training Certification through NETA and enjoys training in groups as well as one on one to help clients meet their fitness goals.

Julie Helsene

RRCA Level 1 Running Coach

Julie grew up in a very active family and played sports through high school.  She chose not to participate in sports in college, and started running instead.  Besides running, she started going to group fitness classes and fell in love with the world of exercise, nutrition and wellness.  Julie joined the Brainerd Family YMCA in 2008, after having her second baby.  As a stay at home mom, she was looking for an outlet for her kids, and herself.  Over the past few years, she has become involved with group fitness, special events and has recently launched the Brainerd Family YMCA Running Club.

Find your niche. Julie believes exercise should be enjoyable, a stress release for many.  Try a variety of classes, or workouts, and go with what makes YOU happy.  For her, it's running and yoga sculpt.  Running has become her ‘meditation’ time.

Julie enjoys being outside with her husband, Chris, and three kids, Evi (17), Tim (6), and Joey (4).  They like to go camping and explore new areas, boating, fishing, biking, hunting and downhill skiing.

“If you change nothing, nothing will change.”
