Coats for Kids 2025

Keeping Our Community Warm for More than 30 Years

Every child deserves to stay warm through our Minnesota winters. That’s why the Brainerd YMCA, along with our community partners, is proud to host the 2025 Coats for Kids program. Together, we’re collecting and distributing winter gear to families in need -- at no cost.

🧥 Collection Drive

September 8 – October 8, 2025

We are collecting clean, gently used or new children’s winter outerwear. All donated items will be professionally laundered by Anderson Cleaners before distribution.

Items Accepted

  • Winter coats

  • Hats, mittens, gloves, and scarves

  • Snow pants

  • Winter boots

Drop-Off Locations

  • Westgate Mall

  • Brainerd YMCA

🎁 Distribution Day

Saturday, October 18, 2025

Westgate Mall (use JoAnn Fabric entrance)
9:00 am – 2:00 pm

PLEASE NOTE: Children must be present to collect winter gear from 9-11 am
Those without children present are welcome to collect gear from 11 am-2 pm

Families in need are invited to pick up winter gear for their children. Items available include:

  • Winter jackets

  • Snow pants

  • Winter boots

  • Hats, mittens, and scarves
