For more than 45 years, the Brainerd Family YMCA has embraced the balanced strength of spirit, mind and body. We have stood for caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith. We've put Christian principles into practice. And we have met the ever-changing needs of children, families and communities throughout the Brainerd Lakes area.

Our commitment to living our charitable mission each and every day keeps us strong and focused. Although grounded in our historical values, the YMCA continues to search for and collaborate on new solutions to our communities' changing needs.

The YMCA is committed to bringing our board and staff members, friends, facility members and donors closer to our mission in all we do. Advancements in new programs and innovative solutions often come thanks to special donors of the YMCA. Many scholarships and program subsidies are a result of the essential support of individual donors, corporate entities, and foundations.

Whether through our annual Y Partners Campaign, brick and mortar designations to a Capital Campaign or through gifts of a life time to our Foundation/Endowment Fund, the YMCA, as a charitable association, depends on philanthropy to meet our mission. We thank our donors for not only believing in the YMCA's ability to make a difference, but for taking the steps to ensure we can.

involved. No matter what your special talents,
interests, and schedules are, you can help change
someone’s life at the YMCA. So if you share our

The YMCA Endowment Fund provides our YMCA with “guaranteed growth.” The annual earnings from the Endowment Fund provides financial resources to assist in the delivery of program and membership services as well as capital repairs and replacements. Gifts to the YMCA Endowment Fund may take many forms:

A bequest through a will or other forms of testamentary disposition
Current deductible giving alternatives
Gifts of appreciated assets such as stocks
Naming the YMCA as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy, a charitable trust or foundation
Making a direct cash contribution
Gifts may be used to support a specific branch or service area, to perpetuate an annual gift, to provide program scholarships or to sponsor specific programs.

While the designation possibilities are endless, they all help ensure the future growth of the Brainerd Family YMCA. The Y Partners Annual Giving Campaign is an investment in the future of thousands of lives in our community. For over 137 years, the YMCA has been addressing community needs and is the charity of choice to so many because every dollar, every penny of your donation goes directly towards continuing the programs that make a difference in our community. Your mission and contributions affect the livelihood of thousands.

YMCA membership dues only cover the day-to-day operational costs of our facilities. Generous contributions to Y Partners is our sole source of funding for our financial assistance program. The Y Partners Scholarship Program makes it possible for those children, teens, or families who are unable to pay the stated fees to participate in our many programs that stress character development and contribute to a healthy spirit, mind and body.

Capital Development efforts allow the Y to expand its reach and multiply the impact of its programs and services. Expansions or renovations of our existing facility ensures that the YMCA is ready to meet the ever changing needs of our lakes area.
