Swim Team Parent Handbook - 2008 Handbook will be available in July.
Swimmers 5 years and older who are competent in at least
the freestyle competitive stroke are eligible. Swim Team usually begins
the 2nd Monday of October. Practices are held 3 days a week after school
for an hour. Swim meets are held on Saturdays.
- These clinics are a great way for
swimmers to get an introduction to swim team, and also for more experienced
swimmers to perfect their strokes. All of the clinics focus on the same
drill and techniques that the elite competitive swimmers use in their
training. Clinics are led by Hal Peterson, coach of the YMCA Dolphin
Swim Team. Click here for the 2008
Summer Swim Clinic Registration Form
This is a deep water class in which all participants wear a buoyancy
belt provided by the YMCA. The water's resistance provides a great non-impact
workout for all fitness levels.
M- F 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
This class provides a total body workout using the resistance of the
water in the shallow end of the pool. Support of the water allows little
strain or jarring of the joints. Benefits include cardiovascular endurance,
muscle strengthening and flexibility. No swimming skills necessary.
M, W, F 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
A combination of deep (with flotation devices) and shallow water exercises
for a total body workout.
